Angels and Demons-Ring, 2010

The symbol itself represents evil and good; however, I placed the demon wing on the white (good) side and an angel wing on the black (evil) side. This was inspired by the Shakespearean quote from Hamlet, “There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.” Evil and good are just labels that each individual places on most everything they encounter. Although some people view something, such as witchcraft, as evil, there are also people who believe differently. While the Yin Yang symbol condemns an idea as malevolent, the wings praise the same idea as amiable and vice versa.
