Jingle Bug-Brooch, 2010

This adorable brooch was based on a nightmare I had at home before I left for the precollege program. In my dream, I was covered with tiny insects that stung me relentlessly. The metal part of the insect represents inner fears and the heavy pebble that makes up the torso wrapped in its wings represents the weight that paralyzes people when they face their fears.
